How the Grass isn't Actually Greener on Other Side

I love social media networks, don't get me wrong on that. I enjoy blogging but it does get draining when everything appears to be superficial and so beautiful. Talking about pinteresty pretty things being blogged constantly. Our lives are not like that but somehow the social media network managed to filter all of the bumps away. We're creating a hyper-reality perspective where we decide to filter on what gets to be posted. Of course, nobody wants to have their  least favorite photo as their profile default picture. But I'm talking about forgetting what the reality is- we all deal with things that comes up in life naturally.

We deal with bills, grades, money, food, people, situations, frustrations, failures, personal growth, dialogues, new discovery, and situations like realizing that you're out of the toilet paper while sitting on the toilet.

We are normal, and we endure pinterest/personal/life failures- no question. But it is just so easy to forget that sometimes while being on the social media network. Sometimes we all could use a nice reminder that we ARE humans. That we have our ups and downs, that we spill our own glass of milk.

So for this entry, I found it very appropriate to post a picture of my almond milk latte. Before I took it- it had a beautiful latte art and I thought that it was perfect for my blog. Then Brianne's kid decided to put its hand on the art and... splash! It created a spill, I was so bummed but I decided to document the incident. Now, this is what life actually look like.

Happy Friday, btw.

  1. What an AWESOME post lady! Seriously- you took the words right out of my mouth. Bummer about your latte- but thanks for keepin' it real :) I try my best to do the same. I've stopped getting on Pinterest lately... I've switched to using Instagram more because it helps encourage me to capture moments in my real life and get inspired by my OWN photos!

I'm really happy to have found your blog, but I almost didn't! My gmail put your previous comment in my Spam folder because (not sure if you knew this) it came from a noreply email address. If you link up your email to your Blogger account you can avoid that... just a little fyi! Thanks for the great post! xo
